Help support the JROTC cadets at Marion High School!
This fund is a pass-through for donations to the Marion High School JROTC program. This means money given here is provided directly to the MHS JROTC for their use.
The Marion High School Alumni Association has often assisted the JROTC with fundraising efforts for specific needs. Now, this fund is set up year-round to help facilitate this process more efficiently!
For information about current needs, you can contact Lt. Col. David Farlow, JROTC senior Army instructor, at 664-9051, ext. 7406, or dfarlow@marion.k12.in.us.
JROTC is a leadership program designed to motivate young people to become better citizens. Studies show that JROTC helps students get better grades, be more active in school, and perform better on tests, and it decreases disciplinary problems.
Though JROTC is a military-regulated program, participation does not require future plans for military service. Cadets who do choose a military career can get important benefits from their JROTC participation, but the JROTC program offers important lessons that can benefit cadets in all areas of life, including self-discipline, teamwork, leadership skills, and more.
The MHS JROTC also offers co-curricular activities including several award-winning competitive teams: Drill, Color Guard, Raiders, Marksman, Academic Bowl, and Leadership Bowl.
Programming is in place for all four high school grades, and the program is open not only to students at Marion High School, but also to students throughout the county, whether they are enrolled at an area high school, or homeschooled.
